The quote that best describes my numbness today is from a friend of mine, a philosopher named Rene Descartes.

The philosopher Rene Descartes believed that we are all, at some point in our lives, trapped in a permanent state of what he called “numbness.” The “numbness” he spoke of was not only a sensation, but a permanent state of being, one that could only be felt by the mind. He thought that we can’t change it, but that we can change the state of being that we are in.
This quote is somewhat of a meta-quote. There are a lot of philosophers today who believe that the state of being we are in is at best temporary and at worst permanent. They believe it is all about the mind, and that one has to be able to control the mind to change it. The state of being we are in is all about the mind, and the mind is a mental construct that can only be controlled by the mind.
It’s important to note that the state of being we are in is in reality the state of being a human being. It is our personality, our thoughts, our desires, our beliefs, our feelings. It is the totality of the sum of our experiences. This state of being is what the mind controls, and everything that happens inside the mind is happening in the mind. Just as the mind can only control the mind, the mind can only control the body. And that is the key.
The key is to think about what is going on inside the mind. To think about what is going on inside the mind, is to think about what is happening inside the body. Like the mind does all the things that are happening inside the body, all the things that are happening on the inside. We have a lot to think about inside the mind.

You give your body the power to make you think about anything, and you give yourself the power to never think about anything. This is exactly what we call “numbness.” It is as if you are so numb that you can’t feel your own thoughts.
The idea of numbness as a problem is so simple and natural that it is easy to think about. A simple problem is that it can be solved by simply thinking about it. All the people in the world think about numbness are people who understand numbness in a way that makes them think about it; they don’t even care.
The problem is that people are so disconnected from their own thoughts that they dont know what numbness feels like to them. The problem is that people can feel numbness but they dont know why. They dont realize that it is because they are so disconnected from themselves.
