It is one of my favorite bits from any of j.edgar hoover’s work, and I would never have had the courage to write it without his permission. Yeah, sometimes you have to get out of the habit of blaming things on yourself. Its easy to get caught up in the “whatever!” mindset and not realize that its the people around you. The people who are the cause of your problems. And if your friends are going through something, then it probably isn’t their fault.
Like when you’re in an auto pilot state, you can blame the people around you, like parents, but you don’t have to. So you can’t blame the people you know for bad behavior. You can only blame yourself for not acting on your own impulses, habits, and reactions. If you don’t act on your own thinking, you will never change. And that’s not good.
