I never fail to love this quote from the New York Times, “The only requirement for success is that you want what you cannot have.” I found it in the book “The Art of the Start” by Peter Drucker, the famous management guru.
What Drucker meant was that you need to have a passion that is worth pursuing and that is not just a hobby. But what he went on to say is that for many people (especially those who haven’t had a lot of success in the past) pursuing that passion is not enough. They need to be able to set aside their personal preferences in order to be successful. It’s not enough to be successful in the future; you need to be successful today.
The book is about how you can take control of your life. You need to stop living like you control your life and allow yourself to be a victim of your own success. When you can set aside your personality preferences and allow yourself to be the person you want to be, you are then able to be the person you want to be.
The thing is, unless you’re a smart person and you’re willing to take all my advice and show me how to live my life and not use it as a tool to kill my own friends, you won’t know the difference.
Thats because you are not a smart person and you are not willing to take all my advice, and you are not willing to show me.
I don’t know if this is true, but it sounds very strange. At first I thought it was probably a stupid idea but it’s the truth. The thing is, if youre stupid then I wouldn’t know who to help you out. The fact that you can set aside your personality preferences and allow yourself to be the person you want to be is actually a great thing.
